my ecobee works without internet. in fact, i have it always blocked.
Yo brother,
I’ve been watching your content since the pandemic, and I could use some advice.
I’ve got a bunch of older Tuya smart devices, and honestly, the cloud dependency drives me insane. I don’t mind them having internet access, but every command has to go all the way to the cloud and then back before anything happens. If the internet goes down, half the stuff becomes useless.
Can these devices be flashed to run locally? I noticed in your video you mentioned the power strip wasn’t supported, but you didn’t really go into whether there’s a solution for older Tuya hardware in general.
Because if there’s no way to get them off the cloud, then at this point they’re basically bricks to me.
Appreciate any guidance.
Greetings, i just got started with home assistant and really enjoying your content. am looking at getting some devices soon and came across this video about loss of internet. do you have a list of tested devices that work and ones that don’t? this is an important part of the setup to not have your home crippled if internet goes down. thanks!
Try the hacs tuya local intergration some devices are supported
